Jakob Koranyi has toured globally as a soloist and chamber musician, performing world premieres of new cello concertos as well as the classical standard repertoire alongside leading orchestras and musicians. He has been a frequent guest at prestigious festivals, including the Verbier Festival in Switzerland and the Cello Biennale in Amsterdam, and for over a decade, he performed with the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center in New York.

Since 2019, in response to the climate crisis, Jakob has declined engagements requiring air travel, focusing his performances in Europe until the aviation industry adopts fossil-free energy sources.

Together with pianist Peter Friis Johansson, Jakob co-founded the climate-conscious Fairplay Chamber Music Festival and Summer Academy in Järna, near Stockholm.

Since 2022, Jakob has served as a professor of cello at Edsberg, a chamber music-focused campus of the Royal College of Music in Stockholm.
